There is a fire rising in this generation. I see it. I feel it. And I believe with everything in me that you—middle school, high school and college students—are on the forefront of something incredible. You aren’t just the future of the Church; you are the Church right now. And you have the potential to spark a movement that will change our city and lead an entire generation to Christ.
You Were Made for More
Too often, people underestimate young leaders. They assume you’re just trying to figure life out, coasting through school, or waiting for “real life” to start. But that’s not how God sees you. In 1 Timothy 4:12, Paul tells Timothy:
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
You were made for more than just getting through life—you were made to lead. To make waves. To stand out in boldness and courage for Jesus. Right now, in your high school, on your college campus, in your friendships and teams, you have influence. The question is, how will you use it?
Movements Start with the Willing
Every major movement in history started with a few people who were simply willing. Willing to be bold. Willing to take a step of faith. Willing to believe that God could use them. Look at the disciples—ordinary young men who changed the world because they were willing to say yes to Jesus.
The early Church was a movement of young people, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, taking the gospel to the streets. Acts 1:8 says:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
That’s you. You are called to be His witnesses in your city, at your school, on your campus, in your generation. And when you step out in faith, you will not be alone—the Holy Spirit will empower you.
What If You Just Went For It?
What if you stop worrying about what people think and start living fully for Jesus? What if you pray bold prayers? What if you believe that God could use you to reach the broken, the lost, and the hopeless?
This generation—your generation—is searching for something real. Something true. And I believe with everything in me that Jesus is the answer they’re looking for. But they need someone to show them. They need someone to step up, to wreck the roof (Luke 5:19), to do whatever it takes to bring their friends to Jesus.
There is someone that only you can reach. I can’t reach them, your youth pastor can’t reach them, your friends can’t reach them. God has put you in their life for such a time as this. And you already have what it takes.
It’s Time to Move
This isn’t just an inspiring thought. This is a call to action. If you’re serious about changing your city, your school, and your generation, then it starts today. It starts with you. Here’s how:
- Get serious about your faith. Spend time in the Word. Pray like it matters—because it does.
- Get bold about sharing Jesus. Don’t wait for the “right time.” The right time is now. It has never been easier to spread the word—with one social media post, you can reach millions of people. Maybe the place to start is just to record yourself sharing your story of how Jesus has changed your life, and sharing it. Try it an see what happens… I’ll bet you’ll be surprised.
- Get connected to a movement. Find a crew of people who are passionate about making Jesus known. If you don’t have one, start one.
- Get involved in serving. Jesus changed the world by serving others. You can do the same.
I believe we are standing on the edge of something historic. A movement that starts with you, but ripples out to change lives beyond what we can imagine. It won’t be easy. It won’t be comfortable. But if you step out in faith, I promise you this: God will use you in ways you never dreamed possible.
Stop waiting. Start moving. The time is now. The world will never be the same.
